  3. Well,
Thanks and congratulations naman, ujjwal, gaurav and other people of the team. Awesome webcast!
I still couldn’t believe when i heard that you guys were webcasting ragnarock. It feels quite nice to be a part of it, sitting here thousands of miles away.

Decent video quality, but i guess the audio could be well improved, one suggestion could be to take the mic input directly from the mixer’s output. Since, it seems like that the camera might be somewhere near the mixing desk, it would really help if the mixed output could really be plugged in with the video. The mic of the camera attenuates quite a chunk of frequencies, thus explains the poor quality of audio.

Good performance from the bangs, It was good to see experiment 7 and Nifelhim again (I still wonder why they chose that name!). The stage presence of most of the bands was quite bad, except Manefus, (sadly only one song was posted). One could see the level of crowd participation when these guys were around, they seem to have a pulse of the crowd.

Good to hear the cover of gel by phun intended. This collective soul song is not much played these days. Well, last time i heard it playing in ragnarock was way back in the first ragna rock when ashes from baroda played it, and damn, wasn’t it good!! The song always rocks with the crowd, but its sad to see the band cock it up, with a sad stage act. To summarise, GEL doesn’t really gel with the band as well as the crowd, quite a surprise, as the song is idiotproof!!

BTW, good stage this time.. :) where are the pics btw ?

Some comments on the individual bands (based on the webcasts here)

Experiment 7: I did miss the energy on stage, except the bassist who is doing this chris novoselic thing. Where’s the punk gone?

Phun Intended: Good music, stage act cd be better..

Manefus: My favs out of all.. Solid stage presence, Pure Hardrock, Simple and sound licks..! very nice

Minus 1: Is that the band’s name!! Whosoever is it, reading the song from the paper, needs a lot of improvement.. alot of..

BTW, where are the agni videos?

Good to be a part of ragnarock again!! Awesome Work guys..

    Peace and Stay Heavy…

  7. @ Prabhat - rightly said, low stage act. But what do you expect when you get the bands to play at 12 in the noon at an open venue for elims (when actually only one band is eliminated) and then expect the bands to perform a kickass act at midnight. I mean, elims and finals on the same day?!
None of business but then if two bands could be given a direct entry, why not other bands?

Talking about music, ahmedabad is more like mumbai now. Anything non-metal is gay. The good thing is, Manefus keeps winning. Just a reason enough to not gay-stamp any music.

Nevertheless the organizers were awesome and the overall set up kicked ass.
Nice work guys, keep it up.
    Peace.

  8. Hi,
being one of the coordinators I know what the situation was, 17 bands had registered for the event. In those circumstances the prelim was scheduled. Only the DAIICT band and manefus were given direct entry rested were tried and tested cos they have the home ground benefits [;)].
    cheers
