Happy Birthday TempoStand!
On April 15, 2007 three rather odd college mates and a handful of artists started TempoStand. After a while they were joined by two other rather odd people and a lot of other extraordinary artists. They are still on the path to what they consider will change the way music is seen as a profession in this country.
In our short journey we have achieved several milestones and each achievement has boosted us to try even harder .
All through, innovation has been the trademark of TempoStand. Perhaps it was logical, since our promoting originality meant we should lead by example :). Be it small features on the technical front to being one of the pioneers of Live Webcasts in India we have always tried to be new, innovative and different. And the response that we received…. well, even we were caught off guard. The massive traffic while webcasting the finals of Blizzards of Rock at IIM Ahmedabad led to our first server outage, resulting in our doubling the bandwidth.
Through our partnerships and events across the country our artists have gained a wide exposure. The major aim of these events has been to promote fresh, talented and original artists. One year into existence, now we begin our journey towards fulfilling one of our most important objectives, to build an open, fair and a powerful economic model for the artists. Watch this space for more.
Artists across India accepting and seeing the advantages of the Creative Commons philosophy has been really heartening. It speaks about the growing popularity of the open culture over the permission culture. TempoStand is all about bringing a change, a change that will make all the difference. Thank you everyone for all the love and support, we need it all, in fact much more in times to come. Today, on our first anniversary, we launch the Tempo Blog. Check it out for the inside stuff
We would like to end by making a mention of the top 5 artists so far on TempoStand. To come up with this list, we have devised an internal matrix based on page views, duration of plays, comments and number of compositions. The artists, in order are:

well guys it has been a great journey so far..and all thru the way tempostand has motivated mutually not only arists like me but you people too to discover,innovate and bring out something diferent..my suggesstions sometimes coming in just as an idea or sometimes when i couldnt bear stagnancy on tempo coming up in a blatant manner just reflected what i and people who are the audience felt and i thought i should share it with you people(altough i had thought a 100 times before pouring in something and waited too…)and today i see all that has really added to the growth of tempostand just because you accepted and took the things in positive light..thanks a lot for it .well i hope for and wish all the success to tempostand team and all the artists associated with it…Happy Birthday!!
