As I stand before this burning pyre
And watch my love go up in smoke,
The sweat drips down and camouflages
The hot pain streaming down my cheeks.

How hard I held on to that dying flame?!
How hard I held on to that cold, stiff corpse?!
Even the most beautiful, the most loved one
Has to be buried or burnt
Once death has made its call.

A leap of faith-
Soaring in the heavens-
Hard crashland-
Numb disbelief-
Aching heart-

Initially, the shoe pinches,
Then , you develop calluses,
And, then you stop
To hurt so much…..

Bad taste in the mouth-
Orbit Chewing Gum-
White, bright smile-
Back on the merry-go-round of life.
