Like every thing good, NWDS '09 has come to an end. In terms of user involvement, this event has been a thrilling experience. Such has been the participation and involvement of college students and alumni, that we are already considering more such college focussed events.

We launched this event with a vision to bring the latent college talent to the fore, and to serve as a platform for the alumni to re-connnect with their college and re-live the days gone by.

As we sign off, we are happy that we were able to achieve quite a part of this. There is a special prize of Rs.5000 this time for a college song, sponsored by a group of senior students who thought that the song reminded them of the past. The college is no other than DA-IICT, and the song is "Open Doors" by HTB. Congratulations guys, you rock! We hope to see more of such generous contributions in future editions of NWDS.

And after having tested your patience enough, we now come to declaring the winner. Needless to say, it was a close call between the colleges. We did not involve a celebrity judge this time to let the enormous college enthusiasm solely decide the winner.

With this we come to an end of the polling phase. It has been really exciting to see you guys fight it out in the last battle field (literally :). Please wait patiently and enjoy the songs, while we compile the results and bring to you the winner of NWDS 2009.

 

Congratulations to the colleges who made it, and to their bands/artists who made it happen! Those who couldn't make it, please don't lose heart. There is always lots of stuff coming up on TempoStand. Keep watching this space for more.

Shortlisted people, this is where is gets tough. For the next three days you will have to encourage more and more people to vote for you college song, and the final winner will be decided by the unique votes that add to your tally

Neat Whiskey, Dirty Socks is the only online event that brings together all colleges across the country to share and celebrate together their college days. No doubt, its the best opportunity to showcase the spirit of your college, and prove that you are cooler than the coolest. Before you graduate, let the world know what it's like to be where you are. It's not just the music by the college band, but also the support of its fan base that matters. So let's see who makes the maximum noise!

A brief description of the event:

1. A music band/artist from your college will send its Original Composition (OC) to us at contact@tempostand.com

2. We will showcase the college, band and its song on the main portal, www.TempoStand.com

3. The college communities then get together to endorse and promote their songs

4. A final round of voting will decide the best college band in the country

5. Winning band will get a prize money of Rs. 10,000

6. Deadline for submission of songs is March 30, 2009

The previous edition of the event has seen participation from 30 colleges across the country, the top 8 entries have been featured by national dailies like Indian Express, Mid-Day etc. This year too the event will be major bookmark in the national calendar, so don't miss the fun.
