MTS'09 Judge
A sound engineer from JCFTI, Amrit Pritam worked with several Assamese films and documentaries in his early years.
Now a well established name in the film industry, Amrit landed in Mumbai with very limited resources at hand. Though the resources were limited but the determination was undying, and wishes were ample. There were hard times when he wanted to give up and return but his determination and love from his supporters, (which also included his carpenter among many other) helped him sail through. With help (both emotional and financial) from them he survived the first few tough years of his struggling days.
He tells us that it was sheer chance that landed him in Karan Johar's Kal Ho Na Ho, but he has grabbed that opportunity with both hands and has never looked back since then. And now 6 years since then he has worked in more than 40 films as sound editor, sound designer. Ghajini is Amrit's first film officially as sound designer. He worked on the main location shoot of Slumdog Millionaire and has recently been awarded the AIIFA for best sound for his fabulous work in Ghajini.
