ShorBazaar is a Mumbai band, formed in September 2007 which plays its own unique style of music - that can best be described as "Alternative Indian Rock".
The band uses a blend of Indian melodies and Hindi lyrics fused with western harmonies and alternative guitar sounds. Their influences range from the funky RHCP to filmy Burman (not to forget the Beatles, Zappa, U2, Nirvana, Kishore Kumar, Junoon, STP, blah-blah!).
SB takes contemporary and youthful themes for their songs, with an extremely UrbanIndian expression and a very, very live sound!

JD (Jayajit) (lyrics, vocals, harmonica, acoustic guitars)
JD is the lyricist/vocalist of the band. He is an IIT-Kharagpur Mechie, who, had a day job that took would take him all across India. On one such jaunt, he met a guitarist in Mumbai….a serious man named Joy.
Joy (lead guitar/backing vocals)
Joy is the lead guitarist of SB. In Mar ’06, Joy posts an ad for musicians for a band in Mumbai. The next weekend Joy and JD are jamming and jellying (:P sorry could not resist!). “It sound good, but it need more wood!”- Enter Robin..
Robin (rhythm/lead guitar/keyboard/backing vocals).
Robin is the younger brother of Joy, a commerce student at NM College, is a f***ing guitar prodigy and joined SB tender at seventeen! Robin shares guitar duties with his brother, and is the second voice of the band.
KK(Krishna) (bass guitar/backing vocals)
Dr.KK was doing rather well in life whilst being in the final months of his surgical residency in KEM hospital, Mumbai. His ’07 diary notes a chance meeting at Robin’s place with a new “riffy Indian rock”.
Well, one thing led to another, as they say - and so we stand – here today - before ye all - for better or worse – in flesh, blood, and mp3!
