"Safar" - or journey - is a youth Hindi alternative rock band with classical influences. The members of this band are in their early 20s and their thought process is a combination of western music coupled with the flavor of Hindi classical music -- the end product being an alternative style to Hindi rock. Safar has been formulated after almost a year of research and composition tasks by its members and has lately surfaced on the Hindi rock stage moving audiences wherever it performs. the new age guitar riffs coupled with groovy base lines ,hard hitting drumming , catchy melodic cleans and classical and powerful vocals have captivated audiences in every show where they have performed. The essence of the band lies in the fact that they project deep thoughts of their young minds through a language that appeals to the people -- music - in a unique new style. Safar draws its inspiration from the fact that there are a very few music houses in India that compose true Hindi rock. Most of the hind rock in India is imported from outside the country. However Indians do possess the capability and resources to create the same using their very own roots of Indian classical music coupled with western rock music. The entire idea is to create a new, never before seen style of music and convey ideas in a unique manner - that would further impress the idea on the listeners mind. And yet all that can be said is: The journey has just begun!
