    It was 1998 when Rohan was a mere student of class 5 fully devoted to sports and friends, although he belonged to a family where music was the only subject of culture , as his Uncle stands to be an extremely talented sitarist , his sister(vocalist) was already considered to be an child prodigy by then , so as a whole the family had an indepth musical root. But Rohan was not too fascinated by all this .One day Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan Sahab came to His uncle’s place as he was the guru of Rohan’s uncle Pt Harashankar bhattacharya ji , during Ustadji’s visit, he was surprised to see Rohan not persuing music unlike his sister and other siblings, and as such Ustad ji Asked Rohan’s father to bring him for sitar lessons from the next day , It was a surprising yet so exciting day for Rohan , That very morning 4rth Aprill 1998 was an elightened day for Rohan , he went to Ustad ji and entered a new phase of life , a new journey began with wonderfull blessing of the Maestro Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan sahib.Then after Ustad ji left Calcutta but gave the responsibility of imparting lessons to Rohan to his beloved son like disciple Harashankar. Hours of practice and determination made this little boy a musical frick , he started composing his musical thoughts from a very young age and which was very much appreciated by his Guru and parents ,Each rigorous talim sessions stood important for this young boy , Then after 2 and a half years Ustadji again came to Calcutta , and was surprised to see Rohan’s progress in that short period of time and blessed him that he would succeed in life as a good musician one day.This inspirations worked like anything, the rewaaz continued and the talim sessions continued , years of rigorous & restless practice and teaching of his Guruji resulted in the perfection and ease of the complex style of sitar playing. Rohan belongs to the jafferkhani baaj of sitar playing innovated by Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan sahib, He have own many awards and felicitatons all through , among them some of the notable ones are attached with this letter. Rohan has been a curious musician and for that reason he started experimenting with his creativity and fusing the two genres of music (western and eastern) got fully inspired from Niladri Kumar’s enchanting fusion music .Rohan devoted himself to experimentation and met many talented musicians . His concepts and creativity has always been credited and cherised by the listeners. His motive is to spread the awarness of the sacred eternal music all over the world and to bring complete peace in this world. Inspired and initiated into the world of music by Padmashree Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan (mentor of the great Jafferkhani baaj), Rohan belongs to the Indore Gharana of sitar playing. He is receiving talim from Pandit Harashankar Bhattacharya (disciple of Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan Sahab) from his childhood. Hailing from a musical background, it was easy for Rohan to learn and communicate music all through. His undying interest and quintessential love for music have helped him to grow and mature musically. He has been performing and spreading the sacred awareness of Indian Classical music from a very young age, and have got enormous compliments and supports from his listeners. He received many awards and felicitations from all around, among them some of the high lightened ones are mentioned herewith this Biodata.
