Lucid Recess is an Alternative Metal band from Guwahati, Assam formed in April 2004 by brothers Siddharth and Amitabh. The music of Lucid Recess can be best defined as a blend of Alternative Metal and Rock. From the very begining, they were more inclined towards writing originals and have been playing shows with all original sets. In a very short time, they have developed a considerable fan following on the strength of their originals.                                                                                                                           Though the brothers have been playing their respective instruments for a long time, they have never really played in a band until they formed Lucid Recess.The band played their 1st show in the Assam Engineering College PYROKINESIS 2004 in which they became 1st Runners up. They continued to play a number shows in Guwahati during that year. In early 2005, the band became inactive for quite sometime due to various engagements. During this period, drummer Satyam went to join Antariksh. In June 2005, their original 'The Samurai Crab' was selected for the compilation 'We Are The Scene Vol. 2', released by the Mumbai based label Ennui Bomb. In 2006, Tanmay joined the band as their drummer. Tanmay has been playing drums from a very young age and has played with a host of musicians and bands in Guwahati and outside. Recently he was involved in an Indo-German fusion project. They played their 1st show as the new lineup since late 2004 as a guest band in Regional Dental College BLITZKRIEG in April 2006. Since then, Lucid Recess have been playing shows in Guwahati. In May 2008, they were selected for RSJ PubRockFest and opened for Them Clones in Guwahati. They were also one of the 40 bands selected for the Independence Rock XXIII but couldnt play becuse their drummer was diagnosed with chicken pox just 3 days before the show. Their song 'If I Could" was reviewed in the August 2008 Issue of Rolling Stone India and got 3/5 rating.                                                                                                                           Lucid Recess released their 7 song EP on 18th December 2007.
