    The band was formed in the soothing winters of 2006, somewhere in November by Aditya, Amitava and Alok. It was just the three of them. Drum kit set, guitars tuned, microphones on and they were all ready to hit the jam. In the initial months, they played in their own college festivals, events and etc. and all of it was three piece. Later came in Anurag, their friend to handle the vocals. In August 2007, Pia joined in as a vocalist and Abhishek joined in as the bass guitarist. When it comes to playing they cover a wide range of genres, from Sufi to Indi-pop, from Rock n Roll to Fusion and a bit of Experimental. Over the last year the band has won prizes at competitions at colleges like Wilson (Polaris), Dnyansadhana (Utopia), National College (Cutting Chai), MCC College (Spectrum) etc. The band has also won the second prize at Hindustan Times – Youth Nexus, Mumbai’s biggest youth festival. They also were the semi finalists at Mantra ( Mood Indigo). The main attraction at ATKT gigs is their Original Track – Baburao Carshade, fast becoming a rage amongst students. They were recently been selected as “Artists of the week” on college radio, one of the most happening shows on Radio One. After that an appearance the talent show, “TEEN GURU” on Z Trendz, Z Café and Z Music and also an interview with the Sunday Mid Day have boosted their reputation as one of the most exciting and promising young talents. The band has recently launched their official blog, www.abtakkahanthe.blogspot.com, which is basically a forum for creative writing and discussing music.
