Arth is a Hindi rock band based in Bangalore. Comprising of six people from the Indian tech industry, this band was the brainchild of Rahul, Namit and Bharat, three good friends who shared a common love for music, and had the passion and creativity required to come up with compositions that were lyrically simple yet meaningful, accompanied by melodies that were unique but registered immediately in the minds of the listeners.                                                                                                                           These three were later joined by Zabil and Hari on guitars and bass respectively, and they set out to make music as and when the opportunity to do so arose. This translated into coming up with scratch recordings of their music, minus the vocals, which they used as a means to understand the process of coming up with quality recordings, with the end goal of having an album released in due time.                                                                                                                           Fate, and a rock show in Wipro had Bharat meet up with his colleague Glenn, and this completed the line-up as Glenn was more than enthusiastic about the idea of playing for a Hindi rock band, something he’d never done before but was willing to try nevertheless, once he’d had a feel of the band’s music. After listening to the scratch recordings that Zabil and Bharat had prepared, Glenn finally acquiesced, and Arth was well on its way towards taking the first few steps that the band members had dreamt of realizing when they started off.                                                                                                                           With all the band members being part of the IT industry, it’s a shared passion for what they fervently believe in that has resulted in them getting together week after week, and weekend after weekend in order to practice regularly to make things happen. Arth’s music can be classified as rock, with a progressive touch, that also includes elements of alternative and pop music, that come together in a manner that gives their music its distinctive sound. The collective decision of the band’s to sing in Hindi was because of their shared belief that they could express their thoughts and ideas in a potent manner, while being able to reach out to a wide audience in the process.                                                                                                                           Battling tight project deadlines in their professional lives, the merciless Bangalore traffic, cranky neighbors who complained to the cops and fulfilling personal commitments that each of them faced individually has not been an easy task, but the six have persevered nevertheless in their endeavors to come up with a four-track demo*. This demo has been put together in multiple late-night recording sessions, a trip to Chennai to record vocals, and many late nights yet again thereafter to have a good mixed and mastered final musical offering, which you are about to listen to now.                                                                                                                           We, the members of Arth are not out to do something path-breaking or revolutionary. Grounded by pragmatism, and bound together by a common goal despite having diverse musical inclinations, what we wish to do is to come up with quality music, which the audience can connect with and relate to, and keep humming a long time after they’ve had their first taste of Arth.
